Ode to the Onesie

What a perfect idea: the onesie. So simple, yet extremely versatile. After seven months of parenting, one cannot help but wonder at this marvelous clothing invention. Whose brilliant mind came up with the concept?

You can find them everywhere and in numerous styles. No longer is the onesie relegated to simply an undershirt for your baby. Now there is everything from the shirt to the turtleneck. There are still the undershirts, or course, but not just available in plain, sterile white. The colors abound with different prints and wonderfully bright and happy animals and adorable designs.

The onesie can be worn underneath clothing to keep your baby warmer, but most are so cute they go great with jeans. They are useful for lounging around and playing too. Who knew I would love these clothes so much? They make life so easy keeping the shirts in place. No need to try keeping them tucked in. Just snap, snap, snap and pull the jeans or other pants right over and you are set to go. I marvel at the design and wonder where can I get one my size? I guess that would just be too weird.

Oh well.
